I've said it a million times, I love making yarn!

It just amazes me how you can go from a sheep (obviously not a blue sheep)
washing the fleece, dyeing the fleece, combing the fleece

to spinning the fiber on a homemade spindle....
winding it as a single ply yarn cake....

to plying it as yarn!

I blended some green and blue together to make the above yarn. It's all 100% wool. Romney to be specific. Someone thought it was mohair (its very hairy) I got aprox. 144 yards dk weight/heavy fingering.
Love Love LOVE!!! Now what to make.....

  1. Alright, you have gotta share how to make that spigot-head spindle. That is just too freakin cool!! (The yarn is, of course, lovely as well!)

  3. You inspire me! I have a drop spindle and a bag o' wool just waiting for me to dive in and learn how to spin, but it's just so intimidating! One of these days... :)
